New Project 16 Bantam Club Program
Updated on 2012-01-03 13:33:50Project 16
The Canuck Stuff Volleyball Club and The Volleydome are proudly running a joint venture program called Project 16 aimed at developing Bantam age (born 1998 or 1999) volleyball players at the competitive club level.
This program will work with 40 male and 40 female athletes who will practice / train 3 times per week from late November through to the May long weekend under the direction of Don and Mylene Saxton, who will be running the program along with 8 other coaches.
All of the athletes will receive the same training and play in regular invitational tournaments, as well as have the option of paying additional fees to play in AVA Premier Tournaments, AVA Provincials and Nationals.
The focus of Project 16 will be to expose more athletes to the kind of extensive training and superior coaching that will give them the opportunity to become successful school and competitive players through to their graduation in 2016 and beyond. These groups of athletes will practise together, play various positions and play games and tournaments with various team mates in an attempt to broaden their volleyball experience beyond that which is available with a regular 10 or 12 person club team.
This type of program is very much in line with the Canadian Long Term Athlete Development Program, but is by no means new to Canuck Stuff or the Volleydome. We have used this program in the past with outstanding results (National Championships at the juvenile level), and are looking forward to kick starting another group of amazing young athletes.

Winter Dome Club
Updated on 2012-01-02 13:41:35 Winter Dome Club starting Jan. 14th is now full - both girls and guys. We also have 30 names on each of the girls waiting lists and 10 boys, so we are no longer taking names and contact information. Thanks to everyone for your interest - we wish we had a bigger facility to be able to host everyone.
Dome Club plus Volleyball Academy for younger and beginning athletes will be back next April and we will begin taking registrations for those in January.
Dome Club involves taking players of similar ages and abilities and placing them on teams with a coach assigned specifically to each team. The teams will practice once per week and play each week-end including 3 tournaments during the "season".
To get more specific schedules or info please click on either Dome Club or Academy.
