Thanks to all who responded to our news item below. We managed to find 28 coaches for 28 new Dome Club kids teams which started in early January. The next program we will be running (and we may be looking for more new coaches) will be our Spring Academy for beginners / younger players so if you are interested in coaching at that level then let us know and we will start to get a new list of coaches together to teach the beginners.
We are expanding our Dome Club program for kids from grades 6 to 10 here at the Dome and we are going to need coaches to help us make the program work. If you are interested in coaching please give us a call and we can find a team of exuberant young teens that need your help. The total time commitment will be about 60 hours of coaching mostly on either Saturday and Monday evenings or Friday evenings and Sunday afternoons from January to April. Pay will be about $20 per hour depending upon your experience and abilities. If you are interested please email Don at dsaxton@volleydome.net

It was a very successful week-end for Calgary players in the $15,000 Vancouver Coors Light Open Beach tournament this past week-end. On the women's side Amanda Moppett and Joanna Niemzcsewska, who have been training at the Volleydome all summer, won the $3300 first prize money taking a close final against an experienced BC team. Amanda and Joanna are both former Canuck Stuff players here at the Volleydome.
On the men's side Ben Saxton teamed up with Jessi Lelliott of Toronto to successfully defend his men's title (he won last year with Martin Reader), beating the reigning Canadian champions in the semi finals and then a strong US team in the finals. Ben has been training mostly in California and Toronto this summer, but grew up at the Dome playing for Canuck Stuff Club and Maximum Beach Club.
